Soft Skills

I have evolved into a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. This has proven to be an asset to myself, and my employers, because it allows me to move between roles, to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds, and to identify opportunities to improve people's quality of life/productivity through better collaboration between skill sets/departments. Past employers have benefitted from leveraging this attribute. Additionally, the broad knowledge and experience feeds into the other soft-skills outlined here.

Employers have recognized, and benefitted, from my strategic thinking and planning skills. While an optimist, and dreamer at heart, I work to establish realistic expectations and try to anticipate as many opportunities for failure as possible as a way to pre-empt and avoid them.

I may be described as a humanist who has, time and again, been vindicated by my insistence that myself and my peers get out from behind our desks and work with our customers (fellow employees). I am very much aware of the damage that isolation, or siloing, can cause within an organization. Employers have expressed appreciation for the value that my initiatives have brought to interdepartmental relationships and productivity.

While past employers have had no use for it, I have demonstrated my skills in measuring business performance and focus on a scientific approach to growth. I strongly believe that an operation that will be successful in the long term should be focused on improvement at every level.

I am an open communicator in personal, and professional, relationships. While being compassionate to the positions of others, I am comfortable expressing my needs, even to authority. My willingness to have my mind changed is highly valuable in these discussions.
